Empowerment Through Education Contest

As a former criminal defense attorney, Sheila Joseph believes a good education steers students in the right direction by giving them confidence to achieve their dreams. Last fall she founded East New York Prep, a tuition-free school located in a poverty stricken area in Brooklyn, NY. Her goal is to transform it into a community where millions of dollars will be earned for college scholarships that empower its residents.
