GET GORGEOUS. GET EVEN.

Save the pancake for breakfast. Face makeup that covers like a mask is a look that’s long past. Other women may still go undercover, but you have nothing to hide. Make foundation work for you by using it to smooth out your skin tone. To get nice and even, dab it on where you need it and blend or apply all over for a flawless finish. Now show us some skin!

Think about the following factors when selecting the foundation that’s right for you.

Your perfect shade is the single most important consideration in choosing foundation. But we’ve made it simple with the Easy Shade Finder, which you’ll find in stores, and with My Color Advisor. Here’s the general idea: First determine if your skin tone is light, medium or dark. Next, select two or three shades that appear to be a good fit with your skin tone. A foundation shade may appear darker or lighter in the bottle, so match the shade to your skin using the Easy Shade Finder or the shade swatch on the package. Hold the shade up to your jaw line, not the back of your hand (which is usually darker than the skin on your face). Your perfect shade will always match your skin tone.

Here’s how you use foundation products. We’ll use Dream Matte Mousse as an example. Its light-as-air formula blends easily for flawless coverage.

MOISTURIZE
Before applying foundation, moisturize your skin as usual. Wait a few minutes to let your moisturizer dry.

THINK ABOUT YOUR DESIRED RESULT
For casual wear, apply spot coverage to even out problem areas (under eyes, on sides of nose, on chin, etc.). Or go formal with flawless, even, allover coverage.

APPLY
Gently sweep mousse with your ring finger, using just a small amount. You can always layer more on later. Focus on perfecting the tone and coverage at the center of your face first. Dot small amounts of foundation on your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin and blend outwards.

BLEND
Pat the foundation into your skin with the pad of your ring finger and press gently with light, feathery downward strokes until it is well blended.

To apply with a brush:
You can also use the Expert Tools Face Brush to apply Dream Matte Mousse. Brush on with light, feathery downward strokes and blend.
