If you’re doing your own makeup, it’s helpful to start testing products a few months ahead of the nuptials. Many brides will work with a makeup artist who will be there to help them get ready on the day of the wedding. But, that should never be the first time that you’re trying your makeup. Instead, it’s smart to set up a trial a few weeks or even a month before so that you can see their style and how the makeup looks on you. If you notice anything that’s not quite working, you can have your MUA make tweaks for the actual day. But, if you want to do your own makeup, there’s nothing wrong with that! There’s something nice about having full control over your look and keeping it similar to your usual makeup. For some it’s way too stressful to worry about getting themselves ready. You know yourself best, though, and if it’s hard for you to relinquish control to a makeup artist, then you have your answer.
