HOW TO USE CONCEALER AS EYESHADOW PRIMER

TIPS FROM THE EXPERTS

There's a secret second life living inside your favorite concealer. Eyeshadow primer. Eyeshadow what, you say? But trust us. Priming your lids before applying your eyeshadow is maybe the best thing you're not doing, whether you're doing an everyday neutral look or a wild smokey eye. It's a trick professional makeup artists swear by and is super-simple to DIY.

WHY DO I NEED EYESHADOW PRIMER?

An eyeshadow primer works for you in two ways:

1) It turns the thin, delicate, often discolored eyelid area into a smooth, even-toned "canvas" so you get the best effect from your eyeshadow.

2) Eyeshadow primer creates a slightly tacky base that grips the eyeshadow for longer-lasting, smoother wear with less creasing and fading--a notoriously common problem that occurs on the delicate eyelid area (what with all that blinking one does throughout the day.)

WHAT CAN BE USED IN PLACE OF EYESHADOW PRIMER?

The best news is, there's no need to buy another product. Concealer works just as well as any store-bought eyeshadow primer. You want a light, liquid concealer that smooths on lids easily, but isn't too moist. Super Stay Full Coverage, Long Lasting Concealer is the ideal consistency and it has the bonus of being a transfer-proof formula, meaning it will go the extra mile for you and your eyeshadow.

HOW TO USE CONCEALER AS EYESHADOW PRIMER:

Dab a touch of Super Stay Concealer onto your finger and pat the concealer into the center of your clean, dry eyelid. Smooth it into the inner corner of the eye gently, then to the outer corner of the eye. Blend concealer into the crease, extending it up towards the brow for a seamless, natural looking finish. If there are any creases or missed spots, simply pat your finger over them to smooth out. Super Stay Concealer "sets" so apply your first layer of eyeshadow, be it a cream or powder, immediately after applying your concealer to ensure it adheres properly. Then do yourself up, and forget about your eyeshadow for the rest of the day! You're all set.
