It's not Ultra Liner

I'm looking for a suitable replacement for Ultra Liner. This isn't it. The brown is milk chocolate-colored rather than deep brown. It smears in humidity, yet it's hard to take off, even with makeup remover. I have oily lids, and it ends up on my brow bone within an hour.

Not waterproof, nor 24 hour wear!

If I could give no stars I would do that. I havebeen looking for sometime now for a new eyeliner since you guys have discontinued the Maybelline Ultra Liner. I just bought this because some reviews were good. Well this liner is TERRIBLE! By hour 4, it looked as though I was crying, and wiped off with a tissue. Needless to say this was a one and garbage for me. Some people with skin conditions can't wear pencil eye liner or even this so called " water proof" eyeliner. People with EDS have soft skin and it is very hard to find an eyeliner that works for my eyes. I have been debating on whether or not I should just have my eye liner tattooed, after the money I have spent on trying to find a replacement, I could've had it done by now.
Do better Maybelline , PLEASE BRING BACK THE ULTRA LINER!!

Poor attempt to replace your ultra liner

I have bought the waterproof ultra liner for my eyes from maybelline for at least 20 years. The brush gives me more control of application than the foam applicator in the tattoo., that drags across my eyelid and rubs off after a short act of time

New formula is awful

Please go back to the old formula! It was amazing. I've been using for years. Didn't realized they changed it because looks very similar but it's awful. It takes forever to dry. Everyday it ends up on my upper lid. The discontinued one never did that. Please bring it back!

Eyeliner had great pigmentation and the point is very sharp so I can get my eyeliner done perfectly with this! I highly recommend buying it. It also dries quickly and is easy to remove

Does not stay in place AT ALL

Wish they would bring back their old liquid liner - ultra liner waterproof. I’ve tried this new Tattoo Studio liner and hate it. It doesn’t matter how long I close my eyes and fan my eyelids to get it to dry, it always ends up on my upper lid. Does not stay in place at all. At this point, I’m going to have to move on to another brand to find something that works.

I honestly do not know what happened to their tattoo line, used to use the pencil, the tattoo in the tub gel eyeliner with the applicator, they changed their formula and it is terrible

I really liked all three Maybelline products I got from Influenster. The lip gloss has a nice sheer tint and feels hydrating, perfect for everyday wear. The eyeliner goes on smoothly, isn’t drying, and lasts all day. The mascara takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, it gives great volume! Just be careful to avoid spider lashes. Overall, they all worked really well for me!

Disappointment in a bottle

This eyeliner does not live up to the promises. It smudges, smears, flakes, and creases. The quality pales in comparison to the Tattoo Studio Liquid Liner that seems to have been discontinued. I was a loyal and consistent user of the original but all the new variations just do all the things I didn’t like and none of the things I loved about the original TS liquid.

Sticks on upper eyelid

I’ve been buying this product for years, loved how it applied on before, and now the new “water proof” formula is a fail. I’m so sad every time I use it now, because it was my favorite liquid eyeliner, the non waterproof one, never bled or got stuck on my skin. When applied now, it doesn’t dry right away like the other stuff did and stick to the top of my eyelid, then it gets stuck, because it’s waterproof and stains my eyelid.. I still like how dark it gets applied and the felt tip wand makes a perfect wing, but I’m considering finding a new brand since there isn’t a waterproof option anymore.

Won't buy this product again, because...

Smears, looks old not long after applying. The application brush is verrrrry long and I can't see that close. The original ultra liner, was waterproof and crisp, and the brush was very short/so easy to apply. I'll never ever buy this product again. Very disappointed after using ultra liner with you since the 1990's thru 2025. I'm sad about it, not going to lie.

This was the worst liquid liner I’ve used in a minute. Within the hour it was sliding down my outer corner and I hadn’t even left my apartment yet. Application process was precise and easy but the formula did NOT hold up.

I have this in the burgundy shade as I’m a girl who enjoys the darker tints as my eyes and hair is dark. The application is extremely easy and I can get on my inner corners so smoothly. The product stays well and has a nice texture as it’s not overly liquidy or thick. Please never discontinue this!

AWFUL. BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA!!!!

I hate this new formula. After buying the original formula EXCLUSIVELY from Maybelline for close to 4 years, I can say I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. This is way more messy, takes way more to fill out the color, THEY EVEN MADE IT HAVE LESS PRODUCT BUT IT COST THE SAME AS IT DID BEFORE!!! If I could rate 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. Had they not changed it, it would be a 5 star and recommend to everyone. But now I need go find a new brand and new eyeliner that suits my needs. Boo on you Maybelline 👎👎👎

I’m a big believer that affordable eyeliners and mascaras are just as good as bougier brands, and this set did not disappoint! The mascara had incredible volume in just a few swipes. I haven’t had any fallout or crumbling either. The eye liner was easy to draw with and is the perfect shade of black.
The lifter glazes were very surprising for me! Neither shade is one I’d usually reach for, for the lippie was creamy and fun! I think they’d be great to apply over bolder colors to tone them down. I also appreciated that they didn’t have a strong fragrance or flavor. These totally remind me of my highschool makeup- but better! It’s amazing how far makeup has come.

This eye liner is very dark and doesn’t smudge which is great for bold winged eye liner. However, it’s a little tricky to maneuver and it’s very easy to end up with a very think and bold wing. Would still recommend.

This liner has great pigmentation and glides on smoothly, making it easy to create sharp, defined lines. It stays put for hours without smudging, which I really love. The only downside is that if it accidentally gets into your eye, it burns quite a bit so you do have to be careful when applying.
