Hard to sharpen

Very hard to sharpen. Another person on here mentioned she broke the brush off and was able to use a Qtip to be able to push the product up. It works! I just used the brush and pushed. I was able to use it. Love the color. #255 soft brown. I. Am getting my brows done in 1 week & a half so hopefully I will not need these pencils anymore.

OK BUT DIFFICULT TO SHARPEN

This pencil is impossible to sharpen, I tried freezing it, that didn’t work. Can’t get a point on it. The pigment doesn’t last 36 hrs., it stays on about 8 hrs.

No way to sharpen it. 3 uses and you're done. They will say to use a sharp blade, but check other comments for pictures on what that ends up looking like. Take this off the market!!!!!

the color completely disappeared

I was really excited to try the Maybelline Tattoo Studio eyebrow pencil, and at first, it was perfect! The color applied smoothly, and it was just what I needed for my brows. I made sure to keep the lid closed all the time, but halfway through using it, the color completely disappeared. I kept sharpening, hoping it would come back, but unfortunately, there was no pigment left at all.
I’m really disappointed because I spent **$16.99 CAD**, and I had high hopes for this product. It felt like a great purchase at first, but now it seems like a waste of money.
Would love to see an improvement in this formula because the pencil itself was great—just wish the pigment lasted!

How do I get a refund?

I was excited to try this new eyebrow pencil, but as others have mentioned, it does not sharpen well. I've tried two different sharpeners and neither worked. How do I get a refund for this? It was $9.99--too much to waste on a few uses.

This is dishonest marketing and selling. I bought and paid 10.00 for this Tattoo Studio Brow pencil. When the add shows the tip of the pencil, there is no twisting, turning, scrolling of tip or other end. This is all you get! Not even 1/4 inch. Its dishonest selling. I will never buy this product again. Maybe not even buy Miss Maybelline/Loreal products at all since they are liars and thieves! You will regret buying this. Its a JOKE!

This new generation of liners provides great color payoff but needs a gentle touch and a sharp blade to sharpen successfully. For best results, insert the pencil into the sharpener no more than 1/4 of an inch. If you push the pencil too far into the sharpener, the blade will grab too much and become difficult to sharpen. The goal is to shave off the resin in a thin curl to reveal more liner. The pencil should be sharpened frequently so that 3 or 4 gentle turns are sufficient to achieve the desired result. There's a bit of a learning curve but you'll master it in no time. A new sharpener with a fresh blade can make a big difference. We hope this helps!

I like to color and how this looks wearing it. It does not sharpen easily with a regular sharpener because the outside is almost a plastic material. I think this should be roll up pencil and forget the sharpening. I won’t be buying another!

There can be a slight learning curve to getting a good point restored. These new generation gel liners need a sharp blade and gentle touch to sharpen well. For best results don’t try to push the pencil into the sharpener. At the slightest resistance, you’re in far enough. Gently turn and shave off a thin layer to reveal more liner. Pushing the pencil in too far will cause the blade to grab too much of the resin, the pencil won’t sharpen well that way.
If its been awhile since you bought a new sharpener, you’ll be surprised the difference a fresh blade can make.

Who knew you could use a pencil sharpener on this?

I threw the pencil away after 2 uses because I couldn’t expose any more crayon. Like many other customers, I wrote a scathing review on Amazon about being ripped off. After visiting the Maybelline website, I see the product pictured with a small pencil sharpener. Who knew? We don’t normally put a plastic “pencil “ into a pencil or crayon sharpener. Improve the packaging by picturing the product with a pencil sharpener on the front of the package. How about a refund it replacement?

Don't buy...get tint pen instead

The product is fine. The design is awful. I threw one away after 3 uses because I couldn't figure it out. Months later I bought a second one buy mistake. (Thought I was buying the brow tint pen which is great) after3 uses, I stuck a pin in the "lead" to see if it really only went down 1/8". Realized there was Moreland googled to find this page. Okay used my sharpener (not going to buy yours just for this).
Works okay for now. Will NOT buy again.

Don’t buy this pencil if you want it for more than a week. I purchased this a week ago then couldn’t find how to get more pencil as had used it every day. Which I might say was great and did the job, but no way to wind up more pencil. I went online, read all the reviews and same thing. One lovely customer suggested breaking off the brush , use a Q tip and push up pencil. Hurray more to use!!
Definite defect that Maybelline should address as actual product is great , just need more thought put into the design of the pencil.

I like your product BUT your instructions aren't very clear, at least not clear enough on how to sharpen the pencil. Since it's not the normal like a regular pencil and it's PLASTIC So that's not Normal for one to sharpen it. I hope this enlightens you because I'm wondering how many either throw it away or return it because they just don't know....I was one of those I have bought it before and ended up throwing it away. Now I figured it out thank goodness

Do I sharpen the pencil?

The pencil itself is ok, still getting use to the curve to draw on the brows. But am I stupid or not, I don’t know how to “extend” the pencil after the new first crayon finish? Do I twist the pencil? Where? How? Do I sharpen it? But isn’t it made of plastic? The pencil is new, it has the whole body to use.

Worst pencil EVER!

Worst eye brow pencil ever! It will NOT extend to sharpen. I've only able to use this product 5x and unable to get the pencil to advance. When attempting to twist the opposite end-it broke! Such a huge waste of money. Hate it!

This is hands down one of the best brow pencils I have ever used. I was a make up artist for 20+ years. I read reviews about not being able to twist this up. It is a pencil and can easily be sharpened. I use the Utban Decay Grindhouse. The only reason. I gave this pencil 3 stars is because the Light Blonde pencil is no longer available. I have used many high end brand pencils and this shade matches my hair color perfectly. Please bring back light blonde. There are natural light blondes out there. It is the only pencil that looks natural for us. I always bought 2 at a time. Knowing cosmetic companies do this.

tattoo studio eyebrow does not have a twist wand to increase more pencil. Very dissatisfied for just that reason. Otherwise it is a great pencil

We suggest using a cosmetic sharpener like our Expert Tools Dual Sharpener. Simply, turn the pencil gently in the sharpener 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. After sharpening, remove all shavings from the blade edge. The pencil should be sharpened frequently so that 3 or 4 gentle turns are sufficient to achieve the desired result. Tattoo Studio Tattoo Brow Up To 36Hr Waterproof Brow Pencil should be replaced whenever the blade has dulled and is no longer giving the expected results. We hope you find this information helpful!

Not worth it.

No way to advance the pencil. Only a very small amount of pencil extends out of the container and once you use that, you’re done. Not worth the price.

Dont waste your money. Use it a few times, then tried to twist more pencil, but the pencil won't twist up.

Hard to sharpen

I was happy with the actual makeup itself but it was almost impossible to sharpen. The plastic casing created sharp points around the edges when I tried to sharpen it and wasted a lot of the makeup. Super disappointed.
