Bring back applicator!

I love the Designer Chocolates and have been using this shade combo for years and Maybelline since I began using makeup in my teens, I’m now 55! Recently purchased a new compact and was very unhappy to see it does not have an applicator. Telling customers to “use their finger” is not an appropriate response to customers who are discovering this cost cutting measure! I will now be looking for another company to buy from that isn’t as tone deaf to customer complaints/feedback as Maybelline! It is obvious that removing the applicator is an issue customers are upset about and the responses from corporate shows that customers don’t matter.

Why change the color and call it by the same name?

I’ve used chai latte for 10+ year and loved it up till now. I recently purchased it and was annoyed that it didn’t come with an applicator but I can deal with that inconvenience. What I can’t deal with is that they completely changed the colors. Instead of continuing to call it chai latte, change the name and say you discontinued the color. I would have rather dealt with that than buying a product that I thought I loved only to be highly disappointed by a product that I can’t use because it’s now the same color as my skin tone and you can’t even tell I’m wearing eyeshadow. Whoever made this decision of changing the color should be fired.

I have been using this eye shadow for several years and the product is good but I also think Mabelline Corporation should continue to provide the applicator.
I am very disappointed in the decision in discontinuing the applicator. I purchased the eyeshadow at Walmart and they do not sale any applicators I felt was what I was looking for. So cheap from Mabelline for discontinuing the applicator.

So disappointed & l won't purchase again

I have used Expertwear eyeshadow for a very long time. I can't remember when I didn't use it. Last time I bought the shade Seashell I thought something went wrong at the plant and I didn't get an applicator. I shared an applicator with another shade. Now that I was due for a new pack and didn't get one again I looked it up. I found out this was a company decision to not include it. Nothing on the product to alert me. That was my last purchase. Cost goes up and up and I get less. Very disappointed.

More than disappointed in Maybelline!

I am very disappointed with Maybelline recently. First, they removed the applicators which is very inconvenient for their customers, but NOW the color I have been using for 20 years (the only eyeshadow colors I use) have been completed changed! The new Chai Latte colors are terrible! I ordered some from Walmart last week and what I received with the same color label on it was nothing like the colors in the larger packaging (that use to include the applicator). I will definitely be finding a new brand that does not change things up to benefit themselves instead of the their loyal customers.

I've been using this product for at least 15 years. Always liked the shadow and appreciated the convenient size. HOWEVER now that the applicator(s) (there used to be 2 in there) has been discontinued I will have to re-evaluate. Boo on you, Maybelline, for trying to save a few cents over the convenience of your loyal customers. Hope you'll reevaluate this decision.

Very frustrating when you pay over $10 for the eyeshadow and when you call to say it was missing they tell you to go back to the store and buy yourself an applicator now, no longer included. We are not dumb women, this is 100% a profit margin tactic, not reduce plastic issue. Do better Maybelline!!

More Lid Color and Bring Back the Applicator!!

[Employee of maybelline-na] I have been wearing Mocha Motion for many years. I've tried others & continue to go back.. this color palette is perfect for me, but the Lid color should be bigger in my opinion because you need more of it than the crease & dark liner shades. The last 10 times I've purchased, the applicator has been missing. It's perfect without having to take out multiple brushes to apply. Why is it missing???

Beyond being cheap

No Applicator!?!?! The last 3 shades I’ve bought haven’t had an applicator. At first I thought it was a honest mistake but now it’s beyond being cheap. I a I’ll use the applicator, of course I have the brush to blend but when time is tight you need every tool to be where it supposed to be! You should add a sticker warning there’s no applicator enclosed if you wanna continue this way instead of just trying to sneak it by your customers. Very deceptive. Shameful……

After 30 years, will no longer purchase Maybelline

I have been a loyal customer of Maybelline for 30 years. I am so annoyed that I now need to find a new brand of eye shadow because Maybelline has chosen to save a few cents per package by no longer including applicators. Makeup brushes are fine with higher quality eyeshadow, but with Maybelline, the low quality product results in powder being splashed under your eyes during application - NOT a good look. This not a problem with the applicators which used to be included in the package, but a big problem when using brushes - which I would now need to carry around with me. This is ridiculous. After 30 years, I have made my last Maybelline purchase.

I love the 40Q Designer Chocolates eyeshadow palette. However, after being a loyal customer for years, I will be going to another brand because applicators are no longer being included.These quads are great for travel being small and compact. Large makeup brushes are NOT. Besides, makeup brushes do not offer the same coverage that the applicators do.

Removed applicator as a cost saving!

I usually have plenty of eye shadow left in the compact. Now I am going to changes brands after 20 years. I hope they are happy with their cost savings because they are going to lose all their customers!

i, too, was seriously disappointed to find NO applicator in my eye shadow. i've used maybelline eye shadow for years! and this was a huge disappointment. i could manage to deal with the small applicator, but this just topped it all - and not in a good way! i've read the other reviews regarding this matter, and i'm not calling about it. a good explanation on your part would be to PUT THE APPLICATOR BACK! i'm not spending $9 on eye shadow and another $5 on separate applicators. just make it right!

What happened to the eye shadow applicator???

Normally I’d give this product 4 or 5 stars but I’m only giving it 2 because this part week I purchase new eye shadow (Lavender Smokes) and it had no applicator! I took it back to the store and wanted to exchange it, figuring I just was unlucky and got a bad one. I buy this eyeshadow all the time and it always has an applicator. But when I took the new one up to the customer service clerk we opened it and that one too had no applicator!! I’ve now seen on social media and the reviews on this site .. seems like in the past week or so this is MANY loyal customers’ experience. Is this a bad production run or is Maybelline no longer including applicator brushes? If the latter is the case I think that’s pretty lousy and I’ll move on to a new brand.

Where is the applicator brush???

I have used this eyeshadow for 10+ years. I have always been very pleased with the color and the eyeshadow itself, but the brush applicator has changed to now when I purchased it last week there is no applicator at all??? What in the world happened? I thought maybe someone had opened the one I bought and took it out but I went back to the store and the clerk opened a different one and it didn’t have one either. She asked the manager and they said several people had complained there wasn’t one inside. Why would you stop putting a brush inside to apply the eyeshadow? Also the compartment where they use to be is still there, just empty. So you would think if you were sitting cost by not giving the consumer an applicator brush you would make the case smaller to cut down on plastic use. This makes no sense. I guess you want people to stop purchasing your product.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Best drugstore neutral eye palette

I picked up the quad "Natural Smokes" and this is so pretty! A touch of shimmer with true neutral shades that I wear both to the office and out for nights on the town with my husband. I hope Maybelline doesn't discontinue these as I know they've been around for quite some time (and no one ever talks about them)!

Just purchased this today. The colors will make my blue eyes pop. I looked at the reviews after my purchase and another reviewer said it did for her eyes. So without even using it yet it will work well for me. My comment believe it or not is Maybelline website photo of the quad. If I saw that I never would have purchased it. the shade on the bottom is orange/brown. In the actual package it's gray/brown. I think you need better pictures depicting some products.

I loved this product - the colors were fantastic and I'd truly fallen in love with it. That's why I was so frustrated to see talc listed as a top ingredient. If Maybelline switches to a safer ingredient, I'd love to purchase the product down the road.

Charcoal Smokies Quad

I love the #1 base color in the Charcoal Smokies palatte and have barely if ever used the others. I’m getting low and have been desperately searching for it in a single shade, but can’t find anything similar or a name. I know they are not sold separately. Can you suggest an equivalent in a single shadow? Thank you.

Q: I purchased a Lavender Smokes eyeshadow recently and there was no applicator wand in it despite it being sealed. I returned it to my retailer. I had to go elsewhere to find it and this one was without an applicator as well???? How am I supposed to use it?

- A: The same thing just happened to me!! I thought I opened it and had dropped the applicator so I was looking everywhere! 😂. Apparently, it’s a common thing! I also purchased the larger palettes in multiple colors, The City Mini, and those don’t have applicators either. Normally, at home, I’d use a brush, but I bought these specifically for travel and convenience of having the applicator in them. Oh well.8 months agoHelpful?
Q: No applicator?? It's an empty space. Looks like you've been having a quality control issue. I purchased this from CVS, had a very hard time getting it open (tough plastic seal), and the applicator space is empty. What's up?
