Allergic Reaction - Formula change?

I used great lash waterproof for many years. I recently bought a tube of non waterproof great lash and within a day, it caused me to have an allergic reaction like I have never had before. My upper and lower eyelids on both eyes are terribly itchy, swollen, burning and my eyes won’t stop watering.

Long time buyer very disappointed

Three months ago I would have given five stars but this mascara has become just terrible. I’ve bought between 3-4 tubes of waterproof Great Lash per year since 1984. Three months ago my new mascara left black marks down my cheeks whenever my eyes watered. Nope. I thought it was my mistake and carefully bought a brand new tube, making sure it was waterproof and it was the same. By the time I’m home from work it looks like I’ve been crying all day. Nope again.
I’m not going to waste my money on a third tube, hoping they changed. I’m avoiding the L’Oreal/Mabelline family from now on. Such a shame.

Very Disappointed

I am so disappointed in this mascara. I usually love Maybelline mascara but this one is terrible. There seems to be hardly any mascara in the tube and I have to keep putting it in to get enough to even notice it on my eyelashes. I'm not sure if maybe its the particular one I bought that doesn't have much product in it to get enough on the applicator or what. In past I've always been very pleased with Maybelline as far as mascara but this has been a dud.

Disappointed

Very disappointed with the recent purchase of great lash waterproof mascara. It washes right off. Appears to be filled with ‘washable’ mascara in the container labeled ‘waterproof’, or the ingredient to make it waterproof has been decreased in order to save money.

Allergic reaction!!!

allergic reaction: red puffy and itchy eyes. I've never had such a horrible reaction from this mascara. It became painful and swollen after only a few hours after application after opening a brand new package after buying it 2 days prior.

I had no idea how much I'd love the BIG! I was just looking for Maybelline Great Lash and much to my surprise, when I opened the packing, there is the chunky brush! It is so easy to use and gives perfect results. This will be my 'go to' mascara from now on. Thank you Maybelline!

Neither great nor big.

Thought the product would fill out and maybe even lengthen my lashes a bit. Maybelline's mascaras
have been quite good and ecomical in the past. But not this Great Lash. It has not added fullness
at all nor even length. It has added color, though, but also the clumping of a few lashes which then
needed separating.
I'd welcome a replacement mascara--this one bought from CVS--that will add fullness, especially,
to my skinny lashes.

Had to have changed the GREAT LASH washable

I have been a tried and true great lash washable since it's beginning! I have been told how great my mascara looks many times. Turned countless individuals on to this brand since I started using in 1975. The formula has unfortunately CHANGED. I noticed the difference and everyone that I turned on to it has mentioned it to me. We have all been on the hunt for now a new mascara. I purchased three in the last two months at different retailers. All gloopy, chunky, dryer than normal and just plain horrible. It now bothers my eye's. Never did in the past. We are talking a LONG time since it began in 1971. I have never purchased any other brand until yesterday. I went for a L 'oreal product and pray I have NO issues due to my sensitivity. BRING back the tried and true Great lash mascara. Not this dryer gloopy version that is just crap! Charge more and make it like it should be.

Caused swollen puffy itchy eyes

My daughter bought a couple of these several months ago. Over the past few months her eyes occasionally were itchy swollen red. Went to the doctor a couple of times, unknown allergen, prescribed steroid and allergy med. Kept happening. About a week ago my daughters friend mentioned her sister also got a reaction like that from great lash mascara. She looked it up online and sure enough, she was not alone.

My To Go To Mascara!!! I Love It!!!

This is a beautiful natural looking mascara. I been using it since I first started wearing makeup and I have tried many mascaras, but nothing compares to this one. I also love the big version, because the brush is big enough to coat everything in one coat. I also love the color brownish black, because it is the most natural looking one. I love the way it coats the lashes just right, if you remove a bit of the extra product from it. The price point is also pretty hard to beat (ranging from just about $5 to $7, though if you see it for $7 look at another store, it seems to be on sale quite frequently). It also builds up perfectly, does not smudge, and lasts all day long, and removes quite well with the washable version. If you haven't tried it, but want a natural mascara, I highly encourage trying this mascara!

Can’t find fresh product

I’ve been using Great last since the 1980’s. Since COVID I’ve had to throw away dozens of mascaras, most often great lash and also expensive brands like Tarte and Benefit, purchased in different stores and from different sites, without even a single use, because they were dry! I used to buy a fresh great lash every week because I hate a dry mascara, but can’t seem to buy product that isn’t dried out at any price.

I can’t help but wonder if the formula has changed. This mascara no longer thickens lashes like it used to. Maybelline Great Lash was always my “go to” mascara but no longer. How sad.

This product was way too thin, watery and slippery. When I tried to apply it, more got on my eyelid than my lashes, and it doesn't build up no matter how much you apply. The formula has the consistency of eyeliner, but I think that the brush could be good if used with another mascara. I give it 1 star at most.

This mascara gives great definition and volume. You can add volume by adding more coats, and it gives great separation between coats too. Doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, doesn't smudge, and rarely flakes. This is a keeper, I hope Maybelline does not discontinue this one!!

Giant Brush-More mascara on my face than my lashes

I thought BIG meant I would end up with bigger looking lashes. This brush is so large -it's too big unless you have giant fake lashes. I had to get the mascara off my cheeks and brows. I bought two. So disappointed. The regualr pink mascara is still the best.

It does not come in dark brown . I am a strawberry blonde red head and love your dark brown mascara. It doesn't make my eyes look garishly dark. I would like to see light brown too in the future!

Royal Blue mascara....bring it back please!!!

I had been wearing this mascara for years and received many compliments about it. So very disappointed you have discontinued it. All I see in the stores is black and brown, several shades of the same colors...so boring. Bring it back please!

I am beyond disappointed that I cannot find my Royal Blue Maybellne Mascara. I started wearing it when I was a teenager and it was the best mascara ever. The Royal Blue was supreme, was easier to apply for some reason, it defined my lashes like no other mascara. I want Royal Blue back please. If I find it anywhere I will buy all of them and I don't care how old they are. The black is not the same. The Royal Blue was one of a kind. Why would you discontinue such a wonderful product. Please, please, please, please bring it back.

Now It Clumps!! Why?

Use to LOVE Big Lash, but every tube I've bought this year has been sticky, clumpy and seems old. I have been all over Denver and can't find a single store that has the original. It use to be shiny, creamy and lasted all day. Now it is dull and as thick as peanut butter and it flakes off.

I have been using Royal Blue Great Lash since I started wearing mascara and am extremely disappointed that it was discontinued. I have tried all of the other brands and have never been more satisfied with a product than I was with the Royal Blue.

After years of wearing ROYAL BLUE, and then turning my daughters onto it you have discontinued it??? On occasion I have even found washable Great Lash in Vision in Violet and Green with Envy. Did you ask the customers what they wanted? BRING IT BACK!

PLEASE bring back ROYAL BLUE, I am in my 60's and have been wearing royal blue for decades, I get MANY compliments on my mascara/lashes. PLEASE don't make me try/go to another company. I have used this mascara and have NEVER EVER had a problem it.

Please bring blue back. I've worn your royal blue mascara for as long as i can remember. I'm completely out and really miss having it. Cannot find anything comparable. Had I known, I would have stocked up!

Been wearing Great Lash my whole life but purchased royal blue a couple of years ago for the 1st time. I cannot tell you how many people complimented my eyes! I noticed others on this site want it back just as much. Please bring it back! Thank you.

I have worn nothing but the Great Last Royal Blue mascara since I started wearing makeup it was the BEST. It has been so disappointing finding out that you no longer make this product. Please bring it back! You could make loyal customers very happy.

I have been using Great Lash Blue mascara for many years. I always buy two or three at a time, because it is hard to find. Now I can't find it anywhere. Can I buy it online or can you tell me where I can find it, in Springfield, IL. I'm almost out
