Good product, poor descriptions

I enjoy the product. It doesn't last 8 hours but it IS very long lasting. HOWEVER, the names give NO clue as to color. I am red/green color deficient and struggle to properly identify makeup shades. I usually rely on product names (berry vs peach) to find colors that would look good on me in cool tones. Otherwise I look to the manufacturer website descriptions of the shade for help. There is NOTHING to help in that regard on maybellines site. I cant afford to keep buying colors that DONT work.

Not built to last

They discontinued my fav matte ink color (globetrotter) so I tried a similar shade in the lip crayon (Rise to the top). I applied, ate breakfast 30 mins later, checked the results and unfortunately the only thing that lasted was the lip outline. Definitely save your money and don’t buy this. It doesn’t last 8 hours. Not even close.

I put this product to the test… I murdered a triple Texas whopper from Burger King and the lipstick wast still there! I had mustard and ketchup all over and wiped my face and it stayed…. I will definitely be buying this in every color😀 thanks guys

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for makeup but I love this crayon SO MUCH that I decided to share. I had tried so many wear-proof glosses, stains and lipsticks expensive and cheap that I was about to give up — they were either too drying, to sloppy even with a lip brush, or just didn’t “stay.” Then I grabbed the Super Stay Crayon. I hadn’t even noticed it was in the stay put category, I was just in a hurry and grabbed it because I had liked the color. So imagine my surprise when this super creamy, no drying, easy to use accurately crayon STAYED PUT!! Through a whole work day! And equally important to well-seasoned women — it doesn’t bleed into lip creases. So thanks to a coincidental grab, I now have a long wearing lipstick I can recommend without caveats.

The formula has obviously changed!

This lipstick changed and not for the better. I have purchased this same type and the same color for well over 5-years. My recent purchase now has a creamy texture in comparison to the old version that goes on more matte. This translates to it doesn't stay on as long as this lipstick in past years. The manufacturer obviously changed the formula like so many other companies today to make us use more of the product which in turn means you need to purchase it again more quickly. What amazes me is that do the companies do not realize that long time user of products will notice the change in a heartbeat. What a corrupt business world we are living in today.

Doesn't last long enough and weird smell

It last longer than most Lipsticks I've tried but it still fades off in less than an hour. And it has a strong smell of play dough. Sorry not for me.

Nice color but…

It smells! I have an issue with makeup that has an odor and boy does this lipstick. I do like the color, Keep it Fun and the consistency but I can’t use it. I have an Ultimate stick one in Mauve and that is fine. That one didn’t come in a lighter color I wanted so I thought I’d try this one. The Utimate one ( which has turned out to be a favorite ) I could smell before I bought it but the way this one is packaged I couldn’t unfortunately.

Gorgeous product - twist up, applies easily, stays put, and a custom sharpener in the end to boot. I'm collecting as many of these as I can get my hands on. The base shade range is really good, but I'd love to see one in black! I do more graphic looks and this is a great tool for someone who enjoys doing art on the face, but is still perfect for casual, natural looks.

NOT transfer-proof, ended up all over my mug.

I bought "stay exceptional" and I love the color, but it comes off IMMEDIATELY! Within minutes of applying it, when I took a drink of water, it was all over my mug and smudged on my face. Within a few hours it was completely gone. Would love to know what trick there is to get it to be "transferproof" and "smudge-resistant" because as it is, it absolutely is not either. Very disappointed, will be trying to return it. Which is really unfortunate because the color is pretty!

i just like it :) i use it sometimes with gloss so that gets rid of it being transferproof but when i am going matte it is transferproof and lasts a long time. love how easy it is to apple, versatility of the crayon format (easy to line with) and it doesnt make me look clowny which can be a problem because i have real thick lips

Easy application, long wear, easy removal.

I don't usually post online reviews of cosmetics, but this lip crayon has got me making an exception. I bought the shade "Check Yourself" as a dupe of another Maybelline shade (Divine Wine) of which I loved the color, but not the application. This lip crayon has been stress-tested across 17 hours of use during two days of (not constant) wear and it's resisted hot coffee, cold water, alcoholic drinks, pizza, fruit, etc...it goes on very smoothly and exhibits very minimal feathering or transfer. It cleans up nicely with micellar water when you're ready to remove it, and doesn't leave a sticky residue when it dries like some liquid lipsticks do. The coverage with one coat looks absolutely fine and it looks around the same after a full 8 hours as it did when it went on, even after food and drinks. I will almost certainly buy this product in other shades. I do like Maybelline products, but this is even better than I'd expected.

Inconsistent Lead the Way #15

I have been wearing shade Lead the Way #15 ever since this came out. However...recently the formula must have changed because the color is not the same. Instead of a pinky mauve it is now way more purple and dark. I am so bummed. I wonder if others are experiencing the same thing? Did you change the formula recently that would impact the color?

Ive tried so many long wear, super stay lipsticks that are just super disappointing - Super cheap, super expensive, and everything in between. This is hands down the best! It usually lasts 8-10 hours. It doesnt dry out my lips. And it doesn't come off when I eat or

Love "On the Grind"

I found my favorite lipstick and my favorite color with this lip crayon "On the Grind" #105. Maybelline please keep this lip crayon and this color as a permanent part of your line as you have with many of your other products. One of the many reasons I consistently stay with Maybelline because I can always find what I need and products/colors aren't discontinued. This crayon's size and consistency, and this color is "PERFECT" and better then any high-end lipstick, lip gloss, lip crayon etc. This color is subtle, but enough to make my lips pop, I have been wearing this daily when I am out and about, for work and even on vacation, and haven't had to use any other of the 10 lipsticks in my purse. I'm able to easily line and fill my lips with the crayon size, and it stays on for a long time, and doesn't make my lips feel cakey or sticky

It seams like many Long Wear lipsticks that I have tried are not either long lasting or not comfortable.. this has both. I’m not into really deep shades where it seems most people who do video reviews show their biggest disappointment in the stay ability. I think the way these fade is actually nice, it’s very gradual and even from the inner lip outward. These have the perfect amount of stay power.. I can kiss my husband without leaving evidence behind (he appreciates that) yet I can wipe it off without hurting my lips or using a special product. I don’t find my lips feel dry unless they were already dry feeling before applying the lipstick. The color selection is great.. that is if you can find the colors you want at the store.

LOVE the original ones, zodiac-not so much

I started using this product a couple of years ago and was so happy to find a lipstick that not only had the staying power, but I couldn’t even tell it was on! Then recently I purchased same color but in the zodiac special edition version. I started noticing that the inner area where my lips close, started to wear off very quickly and felt like I had to wipe it off to eat so that it didn’t get on my food. I thought it was just my imagination since it I had been using it for several months - and replaced with the same one since that was what my store carried. It was yesterday I realized that there was a difference when I used my older one and stayed on all day and I didn’t realize it until I went to wash my face!! I really hope that they didn’t change the formula all together!! Will buy and try…
