Want an exotic new look? We got you. Fishtail eyeliner swoops up and down—and it’s fierce, fun, and totally fresh. Makeup artist Rachael Vang breaks down the steps so you can master this all-flattering look in no time flat. Up your eye game and make this sexy trend your signature. Here’s how it’s done:
Watch Rachael Vang create the super-cool fish eyeliner look and recreate it at home.
Using a black liquid liner, draw a line up and out from the outer corner of your eye. TIP: Don’t worry how dark the line is, you’ll fill it in later.
Now using that same black liquid liner, line the upper lash line, starting at the inner corner of your eye.
Next, draw a line connecting the tip of your outer line to your upper lash line, creating a triangle. Fill in the triangle with your black liquid eyeliner and smooth out your lash line.
Using a black pencil eyeliner, which is a little softer, line the outer portion of your bottom lash line. Rachael uses our long lasting gel pencil liner. Then, draw a line down and out from the lower corner of your eye.
Using your liquid eyeliner again, draw a line connecting the outer tip of your line to your lower lash line, creating a triangle. Fill in the triangle with your liquid eyeliner. TIP: Make sure your upper and lower liner connects at the outer corner of your eye in a fishtail shape.
Finally, use your pencil eyeliner again to line your upper waterline. A look this major requires plenty of length, so pile on the black mascara. Voila!
