Cute, creative and fun. That’s what makeup is all about! And that’s why people are going crazy for the “faux freckles” trend on TikTok and runways alike. For a super-natural take on the look, check out how makeup artist Ariel Tejada created these charming, natural-looking freckles using just two products, in a matter of minutes.

Use Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil in Soft Brown to gently dot on freckles. This particular pencil is key because it’s got a super-tiny, precise tip that will subtly create freckles from scratch and not look cartoonish. Don’t overthink the placement, just carelessly dot color over bridge of nose, cheeks and temples.
Use Fit Me Blush to gently dust color right over where you applied your freckles. This adds sun-kissed warmth that makes them look genuine. Ariel uses the shade Rose, a true, pink that perfectly mimics your natural flush.
Since realism is key, do another pass with your blush brush (this time without blush) to diffuse those dots into sun-faded, super-natural proportions. Perfect!
At the Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2021 runway show Maybelline makeup artist Erin Parsons added sun kissed faux-freckles for a touch of sweet innocence. Parsons used Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick Coffee Edition in Espresso Enthusiast and Chai Genius and a flat bristle brush to fleck the color onto models’ faces.
