This color is horrible The Old Pink used to be so much better this is like a neon color and I hate it. I also miss the plum color that you used to have and I don't know why you have to mess with things that are working. I'm so disappointed

It’s beyond disappointing and despicable that you discontinued Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in #95 Visionary. The most sought after color in my opinion. No other color in the line compares to this one. Honestly stopped buying the line due to the discontinued color. Bring it back!!

What happened to the shade 40 and 50. Those are my favorites! Now nothing close to those shades. Stop changing up on people colors add but take away. So disapointed.

Maybelline Ruined a Great Product

Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink used to be the best liquid lipstick available. I absolutely loved #460 Optimist. However, they changed the formula and now this lipstick is a chalky, clumpy mess that does not spread or adhere to the lips. (Note: I washed my lips prior to application and used a good primer that works well with my skin. So this is not a skin issue.) I also do not believe this is simply a case of receiving one bad item. I purchased two different colors and both have the same consistency and performance. In my experience bad items do not transition between colors as each color is it's own production lot(s).

Missing the discontinued reds

I've been a Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick customer since they first came out. They outlast the most expensive brands! Trust me, I've tried them all since I've been a cosmetics junky forever. I am disappointed that many colors have been discontinued! Especially in the red family. There was a "red orange" i loved to wear in the summer. I found something similar in a competitor's brand, however, does not have the staying power. I wish you would bring the colors back!

Hello, your super stay matte ink is great, exept now coulors desappeared, and not only this, the Nr.25 Heroine seems to have changed from a beautiful reddish dark orange to some pinkish thing. i bought it believing in the number and name and could not give it back. Where did this former orange colour disappear? thanks for your hint, i really loved it and would like going on using it ... (and i didn't find the topic "colour in the review topics, sorry)

First the color is so much stronger than the packaging indicates. I had to cover with other lipsticks just to get the desired shade.
This caused it to wear off except for the outline around my lips.

This is the best lipstick ever and the only brand I buy. Thrill Seeker is THE black lipstick for finishing a goth look as it will hold up dancing in the club, sipping on cocktails, or headbanging at a metal show. Before maybelline made this in black I used to use the dark purple shade escapist since it was the darkest shade and buy more expensive brands for a true black but they are all disappointing compared to this. I tell every goth baddie I meet to make the switch!

I have been wearing Super Stay Matte for years. Also recommended it to a few others. Well, something in the formula has changed and it is no longer a favorite. My application is the same as it always has been and it doesn’t work as well. It does not last as long and is all over my straws and cups. Very disappointing.

My absolute favorite. The amount in the tube lasts forever, the color is vibrant, and I can kiss my husband and kids without staining them, and i can wear it all day without worrying about carrying it with me for rouch ups. My only complaint.. There's no purple hues, my husband and I are doing a vow renewal this year and ive been looking for a soft lavender or lilac that I can wear for it, all the other products ive tried are gone before I even leave the house.

The formula definately has changed.

I have been wearing the Super Stay Matte Ink liquid lipstick for over 12 years. Initially, it would stay on without smudges after eating and drinking. Lately, since the "new look" I have noticed that if I eat or drink it is starting to wear off. Its almost like wearing regular lipstick. The reason I kept buying this product is that it never smudged. or wore off your lips, always looked great. Not sure if I will keeping buying this product.

Frustrated by color discontinuation

I have been a huge fan of the Superstay Matte Ink line for several years. I’m extremely dissatisfied that my two signature colors were discontinued. The most recent was Believer #40 and there is nothing that compares. Please stop discontinuing colors without providing a viable new alternative.

Beautiful color and definitely long wear. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to take off - I had to use Vaseline to help remove it. The worse part, I had an allergic reaction to the lipstick and was prescribed an ointment for 7 day use, twice a day. Over two weeks, my lips were swollen, burning, excessively dry, and now I have dark spots.

Need better formula, beautiful red.

I have this lipstick in #20 Pioneer. I bought it at Dollar General at the end of 2024. Hopefully the formula has been updated or tweaked. This is a beautiful deep red. It does not feather and it does stay on very well. It lasts for hours. Now, when I eat anything saucy or greasy, it will wipe off on the napkin, it does not come off while sipping drinks or transfer when I kiss my BF. My complaint- it dries my lips right out, it begins to kind of peel off the center of my lips and build up around the edges of my lips, to the point of having to wash it off agressively and re apply. This is a big downer. I have finally tossed it out. I wish it didn't do that.

Color wasn’t what was expected…? (Mislabeled?)

So I bought the super stay matte liquid lipstick from a beauty retailer, I brought home the shade ruler. At least, I think I did… in the swatch picture on the maybelline website, it looks like the perfect pinky nude shade, but the one I brought home was a really deep, dark wine red… was it perhaps mislabeled? The packaging doesn’t match the picture either, mine is more dark and warm. I think I might have gotten the shade charmer instead labeled as ruler.
Review: Wear test was pretty good, it is quite sticky feeling however, and I saw some peeling and bare spots on the inside of my lips whenever I ate or drank. Dried down pretty quickly, within five minutes, color is super pigmented! With it being matte, it does bring out the lobes in your lips, but I personally don’t mind it.
Overall, this is an awesome and affordable liquid lipstick to use everyday or on special occasions.

There is nothing more confusing than expecting a "perfect pinky nude" like Ruler and ending up with a "deep wine red"—it definitely sounds like you might have a case of a New York "shade swap" or a mislabeled tube, especially if the packaging doesn't match the site! While the mystery color sounds stunning, we want you to get exactly what you’re looking for. It’s awesome that you loved that intense pigment and the quick five-minute dry down, but we hear you on that sticky feel and the "inner lip" peeling—when you’re out on the town, you need a formula that can handle a snack without leaving bare spots!

Good, but scent of it it is a deal breaker

It does stay on and is a good product, but it doesn’t smell good. Because of this, I probably won’t end up using it and definitely won’t buy again. Why does there have to be fragrance in lip color?

doesnt come off at all not matter how much i scrubed it did not budge if anything did happen it just smudged and made it worse. I scrubed this product for it to not come off from all the rubbing trying to re move the item left me with a rash.
