As Everyone Has Said, The Product Does Not Advance

I wish I had not purchased this eyeliner. I was looking for the gel liner but it was out of stock so I tried this one instead. I had no idea about the reviews below. I thought I was doing something wrong when it would not advance. This is a very poor product design and quality control issue. I would like a refund from Maybelline.

Irritates non-senstivie eyes

I have used other Maybelline products for years and years, but this new version of the tried and trusted retractable eyeliner absolutely stings my eyes. I don't have sensitive eyes, never react to products. But this is awful and cannot use.

Lasting Drama Matte is my favorite eyeliner, and I often get compliments. My sister has even asked me several times, “What eyeliner are you wearing?” to which I reply, “The same one I had on the last time you asked me!”
It’s workhorse eyeliner when you wake up from a nap without smears. If only it came in more shades than black.

Like many other people who posted here, once the tip of the liner was used up, I could not advance it, no matter how much I twisted the bottom. Was a waste of money as I only got a few applications out of it. Would be nice if Maybelline would offer to refund our money or send us a new product. Very disappointing. Had the same issue with their Tattoo Studio product. Clearly this is a quality control issue and it would be good if Maybelline had done more troubleshooting before putting it on the market.

This is an absolute waste of money! Loved the first application. After that, the tip must have broken off somewhere because no matter how I tried to twist the end to raise up more product, nothing happened. VERY disappointed since Maybelline products have been my go-to for (literally!) more than 50 years.

WON'T SHARPEN LIKE PICTURE ON PACKAGING SHOWS

I went to go sharpen my pencil like the back of the packaging says to with a pencil type sharpener and it will not sharpen, so with playing with it I noticed that the end does twist.
Well guess what that didn't work either. Love the liner, just can't sharpen it and now it is junk!!!

I have been trying to find this color in an eyeliner for so long. The color I have is Rusty Terracotta. It is beyond beautiful. I love the fact that this eyeliner is matte it really helps pop out my brown eyes. Men compliment my makeup all the time. I love it I will stock up on these I have the green one as well that I haven't tried yet but I'm sure It will be just as good. Please keep these in stock. Love this matte!!!

This color is pretty, not too bright or dark. It stayed on all day without smearing. If you’re doing a cat eye, I recommend using tape to get a perfect line because the pencil is not one of those that’s able to be sharpened to get that fine point again, it’s a twisty one. Highly satisfied :D :D

There are tons of reviews on this site saying the same thing, so Maybelline please don't rely and give me the customer service phone number. You know this is a problem (due to all the reviews saying it) and you aren't fixing it.

I love the gel pencil, however when I used up the first section of it I could not advance the next section of the product to use it. I had no choice but to throw the pencil out. Would recommend this if I could have used the whole pencil.

GREAT Product Wrong Use!

This is a fantastic product but NOT for eyes! I use it as a LIP liner. Most automatic lip liners break , break, break and stores never stock enough of them which was exactly the situation when I was shopping for an automatic lip liner. IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Browsing around took me to the the Maybelline section and I spotted this product in the eyeliner section. Unusual to find red toned eye liner, but I thought "What the heck, it's the right color and it looks like it might be a little sturdier than the typical automatic pencils so I might as well try it." It is perfect!!! You need to offer this product "as is" marketed for lips and in scorching fabulous lip colors. It will sell!!!! I'm going right out and stock up before they disappear with the rest of the products that too often are discontinued just when we fall in love with them!!!!

I bought the Rusty Terracotta for it's unique color. I need to tell you that I have the oiliest skin ever, including my eyelids. Most liners get gobbled up by my oil! This stuff stayed on my kids all day. Because I like this stuff so much that means it will likely be discontinued as is typical for me. So I will probably buy a couple more in case of a zombie apocalypse!

This product is a complete waste of money. The consistency & texture is horrible. I have only used it once and hated the look of how it went on. Also it is now completely blunt and unusable and will not twist up. I have returned to using a regular eye pencil which is far superior and much cheaper.

This eyeliner is the darkest eyeliner I’ve ever used. It glides on (provided it hasn’t dried out yet) and it’s the most pigment black ever. My only wish is that this formula came in a precision pen or something so I could use it to make wings!!

Though I really don’t use this product as eyeliner, I do use it for my EYEBROWS. While yes it sounds a little crazy, this has been the best product yet for getting my eyebrows to look the most natural and full. I really hope they never discontinue it!! This is what my eyebrows love on!

I’ve used Maybelline eyeliners before, but none of them can compare to this one. It goes on smoothly and even stays on my waterline without having to swipe until I finally see some color appearing. This stuff is amazing. This is easily their best eyeliner they’ve ever made!

Wasn’t a good line for me, smudges and leaves dark spots under my eyes. It has great packaging and stays sharp, but will break off easily if it’s too hot or you press to hard.

I prefer an automatic eyeliner pencil for regular, everyday wear. This one is very easy to apply and goes on really smooth. It doesn’t last as long as some other brands I’ve tried, but it’s a nice, basic eyeliner.

Love these colors it really pops my eyes out and I like the way it looks nice cute packaging as well I use it daily too and of course I am a first time user not a repeat one I would definitely buy again lol

Q: How do you sharpen this eyeliner?? I bought one at the store last week and it have already ran out of liner?? I have never been so disappointed. A total waste of money. I keep twisting the end and nothing is happening so I tried an eye pencil sharpener

Q: How does one sharpen a Tattoo Studio Liner? A sharpener is not included and there doesn’t seem to be a way to extend the crayon. What am I missing?

- A: Hi there! To properly use this product, turn the pencil gently in the sharpener 3 or 4 times, being careful not to apply excess pressure. After sharpening, remove all shavings from the blade edge. The pencil should be sharpened frequently so that 3 or 4 gentle turns are sufficient to achieve the desired result. The Dual Sharpener should be replaced whenever the blade has dulled and is no longer giving the expected results. We hope you find this information helpful! Q: Does the shade Rusty Terracotta actually contain Carmine? The ingredient list says "May Contain," which gives me a bit of hope that I may be able to wear it without the side effects of conjunctivitis.
