I actually saw this on an Isabel Clancey post. (They're pretty funny...yet informative) I thought I'd give it a try because I was tired of makeup stains. THIS STUFF WORKS GREAT!!!! It holds your foundation perfectly. Today I was in a hurry and forgot to powder & set the foundation and there was zero makeup on my BLACK turtleneck. One tip.... It dries quick when applying it so I have a spray bottle and lightly mist my skin prior to application.

I liked the bottle and the fact that it's a serum when I got home I washed my face and applied it went on smooth but it dries quickly also I don't wear makeup but it grips your moisturizer really well and has a plump juicy appearance on skin love it one day I'll try with makeup 💄

My skin is soo sensitive. I have an allergy too aloe as well. I have tried so many primers over the years and no matter what my makeup would come off or would be patchy and dry looking and I have oily-dry skin. But this primer makes my makeup look so fresh and dewy AND does definitely have 24 hour wear as I have went to bed with my makeup on and have woken up with a full face of makeup still. Even my mascara and eyeliner. Causes no breakouts either and easy removal. 10/10 primer

Great primer! Does not leave a sticky feel but also helps your foundation to last all day. You also do not get a greasy or cakey look with your foundation on top. I have had other primers make your foundation look greasy or cakey. I would recommend it.

The primer went on my smooth skin. Unfortunately, as I put on my foundation it started feeling sticky. My foundation didn’t stay on smooth, it looked flaky. The package is very nice, love the pick and the serum applicator.

I tested this primer for the first time this weekend, sticking to my usual skincare and makeup routine, and I was amazed by its effectiveness! I have combination skin, which often reacts poorly to new products, leading to breakouts or excess oil. However, this primer performed exceptionally well and truly lasted throughout the day; it also doesn’t pill when applied over moisturizer. The texture felt like a sticky serum that dried down effectively, helping to reduce the appearance of oily skin as the day progressed. It really holds onto makeup, keeping it in place for hours. In addition to its performance, this primer also offers benefits like hydration and contains 2% niacinamide. I'm pleased to find that the formula is vegan and suitable for all skin types. Great drugstore primer

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Maybelline Super Grippy Primer, but it totally earned its name. The texture is a little tacky when first applied (which threw me off at first), but that’s exactly what makes it work—it really grips your makeup and helps it stay in place all day. Foundation glides on smoothly over it and doesn’t budge, even after hours of wear.
It’s lightweight, doesn’t clog pores, and gives my skin a slightly blurred, smoother look. I’ve tried it under both drugstore and higher-end foundations, and it plays well with everything. Oily skin? This helps with shine. Dry patches? It smooths over them without pilling.
Only reason I knocked off half a star is that the tacky feel isn’t for everyone, and if you apply too much, it can feel a bit heavy. But overall, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly primer that truly locks your makeup in, this one’s a hidden gem. I didn’t notice any strong scent.

Love it!! Foundation sticks perfectly without looking cakey or patchy. Also it lasted pretty well and helped my skin look more glowy. It comes in a glass container and for the price you can’t beat it!

I enjoy this primer a lot. It does what it says and keeps my makeup in place. I've noticed that I'm less oily throughout the day/night as well so that's a big plus in my book. It doesn't feel sticky after use either!

Great primer

I really liked this grippy primer. I thought it might be too sticky and could cause my foundation to not apply smoothly but that did not happen. My foundation lasted a long time and applied smoothly. I had no problem with powder products. I’m liking the dropper and don’t really notice a scent.

This is hands down the best drugstore primer I have ever used. I am typically not a fan of this sticky consistency but I can’t say enough good things about it. It absorbs so well and makes my makeup stay twice as long. So good!!

The Grippy Serum primer is ultra blendable with my foundation. It goes on smooth like a serum and then after 20 seconds it becomes sticky to help hold my base makeup. It doesn’t dry my skin and gives a nice smooth look.

This serum is extremely hydrating for me. It’s a lightweight like watery texture and absorbs nicely. I love how it has 2% niacinamide. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I don’t smell anything from it it has no scent. The applicator is just perfect though I prefer the droppers.

This product does what it advertises. It truly grips the foundation into place. Your skin will feel a bit tacky after application, but that’s exactly how it ensures your foundation is long wearing. I love that it came packed in a glass bottle with a dropper because it allows you to use as much or little as you like.

Sticky, but shiny

This primer really does feel slippery and serum-like going on but does do a great job locking your makeup in place. One thing I wasn’t prepared for though is the glow - honestly shine - even after applying setting powder on top. If that’s the look you’re trying to achieve, then this may be your girl, but I prefer more of a satin finish and this was not that. It does feel nice and moisturizing on your skin though!

Wonderful Primer

First of all the packaging for the product is simple yet very cute! The bottle is sturdy and doesn't feel cheap either. This primer is so lightweight but stick packs a punch! I've noticed that it does help my makeup stay in place longer than my previous one! Although the scent is slightly unpleasant it definitely doesn't overpower or smell too chemically. It has definitely become a favorite of mine!

Didn't work for me

Let me preface this by saying I have very sensitive, acne prone skin. Unfortunately it broke me out and gave me a slight allergic reaction. That being said, if you don't have very sensitive skin it might work for you. It did make my makeup last longer and was fairly hydrating.

Perfect Primer

I am not the best at taking photos, but I did want to show the finish of this primer prior to putting makeup on. The best part of this primer is that it is not sticky or tacky and it glides on like a serum. I once got too much and it still did not create a sticky or rough surface. It keeps my makeup in place all day but my face looks like I’ve done immaculate skincare. Even with a dog that loves to lick my face at every opportunity and nearly 40 year old wrinkly and damaged skin this primer helped me achieve a flawless look for my busy and active life. Lastly, the packaging is beautiful and sturdy and the pipette is strong and useful. It looks beautiful lined up with my other products, but also when left out on the counter. I absolutely recommend Maybelline Grippy Serum Primer and it is now a staple in my routine.

As someone with textured skin and runs around all day for work I am really picky about what primer I use. To say I love this one is an understatement! It made my base so much smoother and my face soft and prepped for foundation.
