I have used your eyeshadow for years. It is challenging enough when you stop making colors I have used for ever but now to stop putting an applicator in the package is among the stupidest things the company could have done. You say to reduce waste and be more environmentally conscious but how is it waste if we need an applicator to apply your product. Your price did not go down for your cutback and the packaging did not reduce and now everyone has to go buy applicators from someone else to use your product. Doesn't seem like a smart move to me.

Second time I have bought 3 different colors of eyeshadow with NO applicator I thought the first time was just a defect by the applicator not being in there I wished I would have come here sooner as I would have known you decided to take it out I would have not bought from maybelline again! Price is no different without the applicator

NO APPLICATOR in order to "protect the planet." What is the point of selling this since there is no way to apply it? Daa. I guess you don't care if people can use this or not. Just sell them something and they can throw it in the trash unused. How does that protect the planet? (Further, it is not disclosed there is no applicator). I have used this product for many years. Too bad you killed it.

No applicator!

The product is great. I love the Tastefully Taupe color. It deserves 5 stars. However, I gave 2 stars because Maybelline made a poor business decision to not include the applicator now. I, too, thought this was a manufacturer mistake until I read the reviews here. Please bring back the applicator. It also looks ridiculous to have an empty compartment where the applicator is supposed to be.

I will NEVER purchase Maybelline eye shadow again. I have worn this eyeshadow for a VERY long time (I am 70) so imagine my surprise when I bought two new eyeshadows FULLY expecting the same product and neither having an applicator. Had this been noted on the product I NEVER would have purchased these eyeshadows. I feel duped! Shame on Maybelline for not being transparent about this change.

I’ve been buying Maybelline’s seashell eyeshadow for years with the applicator always being included. I just opened my new eyeshadow that was factory sealed with the same appearance in packaging as it always does with no label to indicate anything has changed and when I opened the lid there was no applicator! I thought maybe that it was just an accidental error, but come to find out after reviewing the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section of Maybelline’s website that they are no longer including the applicator! Maybelline, if you are making a change to your products, then you need to either (1) change your packaging for that specific product so that consumers know that everything that used to be included is no longer included or (2) put a label on the item saying ‘applicator’ no longer included! Highly disappointed and will be looking at new brands of eyeshadow for all of my makeup products from now on!

Been using the vanilla eye shadow for years. Not only has the price gone way up but they are no longer including the applicator brush. I thought it was a packaging error so I reached out to the company and was told it would no longer be included and I should use my finger to apply! What happened to the applicators?

This is the only brand of shadow I can wear due to allergies. However, the last 5 shadows I bought were missing the applicator. What happened to the applicators? Will you send us free applicators to replace the missing ones? The packages were sealed and bought from 2 different stores. It would be a dirty trick if you have eliminated the applicator as a cost-cutting measure.

Honestly I bought this because I needed a new eyeshadow and so I bought this one at Walmart the fallout is bad and after only wearing it for 2-3 hours it starts to wear off and shows my eyelid not to mention is not cruelty free which I never would have bought had I known this eyeshadow sucks if your looking for a single shade that actually lasts and has to no fallout the best brand for that is urban decay which I expensive but it's worth it if you're constantly using the same eyeshadow color

I purchased a new one not because I was out but because my existing stuff was so old. Now I have new shadow but no way to apply it unless I use the old applicator or go out and buy one/some. And there is nothing on the package to indicate that this change has been made. When I first opened it, I thought it was defective.

I've been using Maybelline's eyeshadow in the shade *Linen* years, and I can't imagine my makeup routine without it. Linen is the *perfect* shade for the upper eyelid—subtle, clean, and brightening without being too stark. It blends beautifully with other colors and stays put all day without creasing or fading. Please, please never discontinue this shade—it’s a staple I rely on every time I apply eyeshadow!

Matte or Shimmer, that's the question

I've used your eyeshadow for many years. I'm a Woman of a certain age, so when I say many years, that's a long time. I don't know of a shadow thats better. At one time on your individual shadows in tiny writing, at the opening, it had the color name and said matte
or shimmer. I recently replenished a few colors and I didn't know which they were, matte or shimmer, until I opened them. They were not marked which they were. Fortunately I only need to repurchase two more because they were not marked whether they were, matte or shimmer. It's impossible to tell which is which in the drug store. When I got on line to order the two correct finishes, I found that they are not iindicated there, either. Can you please tell me what to look for on your label that will tell me if it's matte or shimmer? Also, will you please tell me how to tell one from the other when I'm ordering on line?

I like this line. However, since "champagne fizz" was discontinued, there's not a color that fits my daily needs. I have very dark, hooded, and deep set eyes. The brightest white is way too white, and all other shades make my eyes darker instead of brightening.

Earthy Taupe is greatly missed specifically because it is a matte shadow. Recommending a nude palette that includes shimmer and pearl shadows is tone-deaf and not responsive or respectful to the needs or requests of the people who are posting here.

Looking at some reviews for this color, and your team replies. Need to be clear on this and any of your EPXERT EYES colors on what is a MATTE, PEARL, or SHMMMER. Seashell is NOT A MATTE. You really need to call this out for customers with sensitive eyes, older skin, contacts, etc. The ingredients and descriptions posted online do not clearly call this out, and the packaging in store does not either. This type of information should be included for all eyeshadows as a minimum standard for customer safety.

Earthly Taupe was a staple in my make up routine and I loved it! Now, I can no longer find it anywhere. Why would you discontinue this gem and not replace it with something comparable. I prefer matte neutrals and now you only offer shimmery items or neutrals that lean too far pink or yellow for an average skin tone. Extremely disappointed!!!

Q: Hello I bought Linen eyeshadow (off white) for many years, but for a while now its almost a beige. Is the vanilla a good replacement to use ?? Do not like any of the pearl colors and do not like the White, too bright

- A: I have problems finding several of the individual eye shadow colors in local stores .. the forest green; the linen; the rose colors... ( I have green eyes ..).I prefer buying individual colors rather than a palette of several containing some I will never wear... Who decides what the store stocks? Is it the store managers or the Maybelline Rep setting the displays up? Please inform them we seem want ALL the shades you offer and in individual containers available to purchase in our local stores! ! Also, what happened to translucent loose powder? I still like that but rarely find it these days .. Are the customers able to order these directly from Maybelline if we can't get them. in stores? - A: Same here in Texas. In the past month, I have purchased 5 Tastefully Taupe and none of them have the applicator. I have been returning them, but if Maybelline will just send me applicators, I will keep them. Have 4 I am about to return because applicator missing6 months agoHelpful?
