MASCARA MAKEUP:
LENGTHENING AND
VOLUMIZING
MASCARAS

Mascara is used to help enhance eyelashes for a brighter-looking appearance and eye-popping results.

Mascaras work by adding color and volume to eyelashes. Depending on the formula, mascara can help darken, lengthen, thicken and curl lashes of all shapes and sizes.

For best results, hold mascara brush against lashes and repeatedly extend from root to tip until desired volume and length are achieved.

As long as you properly care for your eyelashes by conditioning and gently removing mascara with eye makeup remover after each use, it is safe to use mascara every day.

If you want to know if mascara can lengthen your eyelashes, the answer is yes! Lengthening mascara is designed to stretch and layer onto lashes evenly without building too much bulk. The result is gorgeously long, elegant lashes. We've got a few high-rated picks for the best mascara for long lashes to give you the stretch you need for any occasion you want. First up: Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara, our newest formula, which sold out four times! Also, a great pick: The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. The best way to keep that bouncy eyelash curl is by locking it in with the best mascara to help "set" them into their curve. The Falsies Lash Lift Washable Mascara is our best curling mascara because it's designed to contract a little while drying, which helps lashes retain their lifted, open, upwards tilt. Some people also prefer to use waterproof mascara because it creates a tight seal on lashes that tends to help them stay up longer than washable mascara.

To help you choose the best waterproof mascara, we’ve rounded up our best formulas and shared the scoop on the benefits of each. But, in most cases, if you already have a formula of mascara that works for you, there is almost always a waterproof twin sister. So just choose your favorite formula, then seek out its waterproof version. Discover the Best Waterproof Mascara for Long Lasting Lash Volume.

Waterproof mascara is formulated to cling to lashes and withstand water and the elements, so it should only be removed with a proper eye makeup remover. Water alone won't cut it, and soap will strip and dry out lashes in the removal process (while also being less effective than an eye makeup remover.) We recommend a gentle micellar water that removes makeup and cleanses and refreshes skin!

When you sleep with your mascara on, you're at risk for smudgy, dried-out eyelashes, at the least, so always remove mascara before you go to sleep. If you sleep with anything on your eyelashes, we recommend using our Lash Sensational Boosting Eyelash Serum to help fortify and condition lashes for a shinier, glossier, and softer look.

Eyelash conditioner does the same thing for your eyelashes that hair conditioner does for your hair—it helps restore softness, silkiness, and health. Try Lash Sensational, our conditioning eyelash serum (a TikTok fav!) infused with arginine and pro-vitamin B5 to help enhance the look of eyelashes in just 4 weeks. For a care-infused mascara, we recommend our Full 'N Soft Waterproof Mascara, an advanced thickening mascara infused with Vitamin E for softer, fuller, healthier-looking lashes!

Similarly to how you would choose a certain shade of eye shadow based on your eye color, you can use the same tips to figure out what mascara goes with your eye color. Usually, the color that will make your eyes pop best is the opposite color of your eyes. So, burgundy and purple look lovely on green and hazel eyes, while blue looks beautiful on brown eyes and vice versa. But, sometimes it can be really fun to do a matchy-matchy look with blue mascara on blue eyes or green on green eyes.
